2008 marks the end of the Colts dominance in the AFC South. If last season showed us anything, from this group of four, it’s that Jaxsonville is the new power bellow the Mason Dixon Line. All others will have to be bistandards going forward.

For back to back years, Jeff Garcia took different teams to the playoffs. Last year, it was the NFC South Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Garcia and company will look to repeat as division champs, but it won’t be easy this year with the Saints. It should be a competitive race for the NFC South crown this season.

The NFC West has been dominated by the Seattle Seahawks, who head into this season looking to win the division for the fifth straight season. This year won’t be easy, as the Rams and Cardinals are going to provide some solid competition in the 2008 season. Can the Seahawks reign supreme again out west?

I think that the two strongest divisions (in terms of overall talent, not ability to win games) are, as DA eluded to, the NFC East, and as I’m about to break down, the AFC North. While the Bengals and Ravens are certainly second and third tier teams in this league, the Browns (that’s right, those Browns) and especially the Steelers, have a very real chance of becoming the AFC’s ticket to the Super Bowl. So long as Big Ben can keep away from photos like this…

The NFC North is loaded with young talent, including the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson. Now that #4 is gone, the division is open for the other teams to take over. With the young Vikings improving drastically, and the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay finally beginning, this should be a fun division to watch this season.

The competition is tight in the NFC East, as both NFC Wild Card teams came from this division last season. Not only did the division have three playoff teams, but one of those teams, the New York Giants became the Super Bowl Champion. Here’s the preview for the best division in football.

It would be easy for me to sit hear and pen paragraph after pragraph about my beloved J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets. And to be honest, they have, without a doubt, been the league’s vocal point of offseason moves this summer. I don’t know if you’ve heard but Brett Fucking Favre is the Jets new QB 1. That said, my boys still pail in comparrison to their perennial nemesis the New England Patriots. And with both the Dolphins and the Bills on the rise this season, the AFC East could end up being the most intruiging of divisions in ’08.
