Before continuing his non-stop coverage of the 2008-2009 college football bowl season, sponsored by Champs Sports, which apparently is where sports live, Barney must apologize for not covering the previous two bowl games (the Motor City Bowl and the Meineke Car Care Bowl). A combination of traveling to Utah and the time difference prevented him from posting. But now, he's back, and ready to preview a run-heavy battle between the Badgers of Wisconsin and the Seminoles of Florida State.

Yes people, the most wonderful time of the year is upon us! That's right, after another memorable college football season, we finally get to see the best of the best battle it out on the gridiron in college football's 34 postseason bowl games. What begins tomorrow in Washington D.C., with Wake Forest taking on Navy, and ends in Miami, with Oklahoma battling it out with Florida, this bowl season will no doubt provide the memorable moments, spectacular performances, and heart-stopping drama that is always does. And here to break it all down (and of course, wrap it back up) is Barney. Starting with the four games tomorrow, and ending with the BCS National Championship, Barney will be here to give his opinion on all 34 games, the good and the bad. We'll start with the bad.

"I am very, very excited about coming back home to ESPN where I have had so many great years. I look forward to analyzing people being fired rather than being the guy fired." –Barry Melrose announcing he will be returning to ESPN. Melrose, fired in November by the Tampa Bay Lightning, will be back on ESPN's hockey coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2009.
