The U.S. Olympic team, lead by flagbearer Lopez Lomong, marches around the track at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest stadium during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Dressed in white trousers, blue blazers, red-white-and-blue-striped ties and white caps, the 600 U.S. athletes competing in the games received a warm welcome from the 91,000 fans that braved the stifling Beijing heat to watch what is being described as one of the greatest opening ceremonies ever.
