Some Coordinating Love

After years of suffrage (not really) the hardest working men in the game of professional football, offensive and defensive coordinators are finally getting their due.
Jason Garrett, the offensive mastermind behind the efforts of Mr. Simposon, Marber III, and T.O., was named the highest paid man in his profession a couple weeks back. It’s phenomenal to see these men of genius finally get proper compensation. Their efforts often go unnoticed, besides of course the courtesy camera pan to them freaking out on the sideline once a game. His work engineered the most effective offense in the league this side of Foxboro.
To prevent him from getting eaten up by the division rival Redskins, the Giants today made Steve Spagnuolo the highest paid defensive coordinator in the NFL. He’ll receive just over $2 mil per year for his efforts this season, and especially in XLII. When the game was still knotted up at 7-3 at the end of three, I was asked who I thought the MVP should. I jokingly answered that Spagnuolo should get the prize for his work in shutting down the best offense of all-time. Congratulations to him. He and his defensive line are the reason the Giants are the toast of the town in New York right now.
