The Best Movie of the Year

No_country_for_old_menSo here’s the thing. I’ve been really focused on sports recently, and how could I not be. So I haven’t really had time to discuss the slew of movies that I’ve seen over the past two weeks or so. So this is a belated post to say the least. And don’t think I’m jumping on any critical bandwagons right here, this is what I’ve thought since seeing No Country back a couple weeks now.

I walked out of this movie thinking Oscar 100%. The way that this story was told (almost word for word from the Cormac McCarthy novel) by the Coen brothers is just excellent. The authenticity of the shots, TLJ’s narration, Javier Bardem in everything that he does and says, and Josh Brolin’s mustache just make this film amazing. Sure, the ending doesn’t make much sense and totally catches you off guard, but who cares! The Coen’s have locked up Best Adapted Screen play for sure, and certainly the Supporting Actor award for Bardem. Best Picture looms has the one title it may not get, but it damn sure should.
