The Beginning Of Something Great

Everyone should be very scared of the Boston Celtics. After the first three games, I can confidently say that this team is legit. In tonight’s game against the Nuggets, they poured in 77 points in the first half, while allowing just 38 to one of the league’s best offenses.
The Celts ended up winning by 26 points as they took out their dominant trio of Garnett, Pierce and Allen. Once again, these three dominated, combining for 71 points tonight, and on the season, they are averaging 70 points per game. These three are playing better together than I expected, but they aren’t winning these games by themselves. The team has the number one defense in the NBA, and their bench has been solid. Despite not having a lot of talent off the bench, they are still getting production when they need to sit the stars. If they can continue to get that production from their bench players, especially Eddie House and James Posey, this team could be unstoppable this season.
Boston has got to be roaring right now as their team has started 3-0, playing three playoff teams from last season. The Big 3 is dominating, and has become a force to be reckoned with. The reason this team is so successful is because their stars take initiative in the games. They all know their role on this team, and they are doing what they need to do, when they need to do it. They have won two blow out games, and on Sunday, they proved they could win close games as well. Ray Allen drilled a game-winning three with a few seconds remaining in overtime on the road against the reigning division champion Raptors. Allen, Pierce and Garnett have all accepted the fact that their time in the NBA is coming to an end, and now is the time to win. Garnett has become the first player since Charles Barkley to average 20, 10 and 5 over his first 3 games with a new team. His incredible performance, mixed in with Pierce and Allen’s all around game has led to a great start to the season. All three of them want to win, and they aren’t disappointing so far.
