In the wise words of the ESPN Headline maker: "Shea It Ain’t So." The pitiful Mets lost there fouth game in a row last night to the Cardinals, 3-0. With 17 games left, the Mets had a 7 game lead over the Phillies in the NL East, and now with 3 games left in the season their lead has vanished. The Mets have won 4 out of there last 10 games and if they are not able to recapture the division lead, they might not even make the playoffs. The Padres currently have a 1 game lead in the Wild Card race over the Mets, Phillies, and Rockies. Luckily for the Creatures, things are a bit better off in the Bronx. The Yankees have clinched a playoff berth and postseason tickets, which went on sale to the general public today at 10:00 AM, sold out in about 30 seconds. And that’s why we have StubHub.

Thought of the Day

061115_vick_vlg3pwidec Does anyone else think that the Feds wasted a drug test on our friend Ron Mexico? I mean, was Vick not going to test positive for pot? What else does he have to do while he waits for his life to be thrown away by some judge? Dogfighting? Crap! Not anymore. Gambling? Nope. Oh well, lets go light a fat one up by the pool. This test costs like $300, use it on someone worth while for God’s sake!

Oh When The Saints Go Marching…Down?

Are the Saints done? After an 0-3 start, in which they lost starting running back Deuce McAllister, that may very well be the case. Now, second year player Reggie Bush has to carry the load for New Orleans, which he has never done in his football career dating back to his days at USC, when he had LenDale White along side him.

The Tuesday Evening Punter

BrettfavreAfter Week 3, the Saints, a favorite to win the NFC, are 0-3, while the Packers, who weren’t supposed to be in the playoff chase are 3-0! The Eagles snapped out of their funk by scoring the must points by a team this season in a game (56), while also wearing the ugliest uniforms in NFL History.

New York Mets Willie Randolph (left) and hitting coach Howard Johnson can only watch from the dugout as the Mets get pounded by the Washington Nationals 13-4 in last night’s baseball game at Shea Stadium. The crowd of 49,164 were hoping to watch the Metropolitans extend their divison lead to 3 games but by the 6th inning, the Nationals, who are sitting pretty at 17.5 games behind the Mets in the divison, were leading 7-1. The Mets lead over the Phillies in the NL East is now only 2 games as we come down to the final strech of the season. (AP Photo/Kathy Willens)

Thought of the Day

4_12_2006_44304347Last night was a glorious night for the Creatures. In the first ever football game under the lights, our Wild Boars came back to in the 4th quarter to defeat Kent 20-17. Attending the game was the one and only Chris Berman, whose son went to Choate a few years ago. Boomer is one of the most recognized sports commentators in the United States and not only did the Creatures sight him standing on the sideline, but they were introduced to him by Choate Athletic Director Ned Gallagher and actually shook Boomer’s hand. We shook his hand at the end of the game as well and he wished us the best of luck. A glorious night indeed.
